Drive-Thru Rage: Woman Charged After Spitting on Tim Hortons Employee in Chatham

A routine drive-thru order at a Tim Hortons on St. Clair Street in Chatham erupted into a disturbing incident when a customer allegedly spat through the service window at an employee. Chatham-Kent Police say the confrontation unfolded on November 29 around 3:55 p.m., after a woman became verbally aggressive about her order, left the store, and then approached the drive-thru window, where she spat at the staff member. Witnesses backed the employee’s account, and surveillance footage later helped police identify the suspect as a 35-year-old Chatham woman.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and on December 5 at 4 p.m., the accused turned herself in at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters. She is now charged with assault and has been released with conditions while awaiting a future court date.
