A late-evening shooting in Brampton has left one person dead and another seriously injured, prompting a homicide investigation.
Peel police say they were called to Bayhampton Drive, near Humberwest Parkway and Castlemore Road, just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The homicide unit is now leading the investigation. Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident, though no further details have been released.
