Canada-Wide Arrest Warrants Issued for Markham and Brampton Suspects in Toronto Homicide Case

Toronto, ON — The Toronto Police Service has issued Canada-wide arrest warrants for three men — including suspects from Markham and Brampton — in connection with the shooting death of a 42-year-old Woodbridge man, identified as Yueyuan Dong.

According to investigators, the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on September 24, 2025, at an establishment near Sheppard Avenue East and Brimley Road in Toronto. During a physical confrontation, police allege the suspects produced a firearm and shot the victim. Dong was transported to hospital through an emergency run but succumbed to his injuries on October 19.

Following an intensive investigation, police have now obtained Canada-wide warrants for:

  • Kai Chen, 29, of Markham
  • Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 28, of Brampton
  • A 29-year-old Toronto man

All three are wanted for second-degree murder in connection with Dong’s death — which marks Toronto’s 35th homicide of 2025.

Toronto police continue to appeal to the public for assistance in locating the suspects. Investigators urge anyone with information about their whereabouts or about the shooting to contact police at 416-808-7400 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.222tips.com.

Police caution that the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who encounters them should avoid approaching and instead call 911 immediately.
