Brampton’s 50th Birthday Bash: A Community Celebration at Chinguacousy Park

The City of Brampton is excited to celebrate its 50th birthday and invites residents to join the milestone event commemorating 50 vibrant years since its incorporation in 1974.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, June 29
  • Time: 2 – 10 pm
  • Location: Chinguacousy Park

Join the celebration to connect with City departments, enjoy free family-friendly activities, and savor delicious bites from local food vendors.

Hosted by Brampton Arts Walk of Fame inductee and JUNO award-winner Keshia Chanté, the event will feature performances by local artists Haviah Mighty, Omega Mighty, Darryn De Souza, and five-time JUNO award-winner Exco Levi. The evening will culminate with a headlining performance by multi-platinum recording artist Johnny Reid.

In collaboration with Canada’s Music Incubator Limited (CMI), the City commissioned a special 50th birthday song. Written and performed by Brampton native Omega Mighty and produced by Darryn DeSouza and Spencer Heaslip (Taabu), “Celebrate You” will be available on streaming platforms on June 28 and performed live on June 29.

Art enthusiasts can enjoy digital artwork and short films by 50 local creatives at the PIXEL Chapter: 50 Exhibition, showcasing Brampton’s interdisciplinary talent. The exhibition will be available in person at the event and during select weeks from June to December in downtown Brampton’s Garden Square. It can also be viewed on the BAO’s 3D Virtual Gallery at Bramptonartsorg.ca.

Attendees can explore Brampton’s history at PAMA’s display and visit Lorne Scots’ military vehicles, try on equipment, and enjoy camo face painting. Various City departments will be on-site offering activities and giveaways, including Parks Maintenance and Forestry, Building Design and Construction, Capital Works, Tourism, Heritage, Brampton Animal Services, By-Law, Cultural Services, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, Recreation, Road Maintenance Operations and Fleet, Brampton Transit, and Service Brampton.

“Join us as we celebrate 50 vibrant years of Brampton’s journey, marking a milestone of growth, unity, and community spirit.
