Brampton Protest Highlights Rising Tensions Outside Temple, No Arrests Reported

A weekend demonstration outside a Hindu temple in Brampton has brought renewed attention to growing tensions within the local community.

The protest, organized by Sikhs for Justice, took place near Triveni Mandir, where demonstrators gathered with Khalistan flags and slogans.

Peel Regional Police maintained a visible presence, keeping protesters behind barricades and at a distance from the place of worship. Authorities confirmed the demonstration remained peaceful, with no arrests reported.

Temple officials, while acknowledging police efforts, raised concerns about the use of loudspeakers and megaphones, calling it disruptive and intimidating despite physical separation.

The incident has reignited debate around enforcement of buffer zones and the balance between the right to protest and ensuring safety and respect at places of worship.
