Investigators with the Commercial Auto Crime Bureau have laid multiple charges against a Brampton resident following an ongoing investigation into trailers believed to have been illegally re-vined.
Police say the investigation began after officers located six trailers inside an outdoor storage facility in the Town of Caledon on Friday, July 11, 2025. Authorities determined that all six trailers had been re-vined — meaning their vehicle identification numbers had been altered.
Investigators further revealed that the storage space had been rented by Satwinder Singh, and during a search of the trailers, officers discovered approximately $56,000 worth of stolen property. The items had previously been reported stolen to police.
On July 22, 2025, Satwinder Singh, a 24-year-old resident of Brampton, was arrested and charged with several Criminal Code offences, including seven counts of possession of property obtained by crime and six counts of tampering with a vehicle identification number.
Police confirmed that Singh was released on an undertaking and is expected to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Authorities are continuing the investigation and are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Commercial Auto Crime Bureau at 905-453-2121, extension 3310.
