The City Council of Brampton is thrilled to announce a new initiative offering free Annual Recreation Memberships to residents aged 70 and above, effective immediately.
This program, aimed at improving the well-being of over 58,000 senior residents, provides access to a wide array of recreational activities. Eligible seniors can now enroll in the 70+ Annual Recreation Membership, which includes free entry to drop-in programs designed to enhance physical, mental, and emotional health.
“Seniors have played a vital role in shaping our community and deserve to continue leading healthy and active lives. This new membership reflects our commitment to creating an age-friendly and accessible community. By eliminating financial obstacles, we proudly support our seniors in maintaining their well-being with free, local recreational activities.” said Regional Councillor Rowena Santos, Chair of Community Services
Starting June 10, membership holders can register for summer programs at no additional cost, with activities kicking off in July 2024. This new membership builds on previous offerings of free Swim and Skate Memberships and Walking Track Memberships, now also including Fitness Centre Membership, Racquet Membership, and various drop-in activities like swimming, skating, and fitness programs.
The City of Brampton is dedicated to promoting healthy and active lifestyles for all residents. For more details on the new complimentary Annual Recreation Membership and to confirm eligibility, visit brampton.ca/memberships.
