Brampton Honors Volunteers During National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week, taking place from April 14 to 20, 2024, is a time for Brampton to extend its heartfelt appreciation to all volunteers within the city.

This annual event celebrates the crucial role that volunteers play in strengthening communities across Canada, including Brampton. It is estimated that volunteers across the nation contribute approximately 2.5 billion hours annually, equating to around 2.5 million full-time jobs.

This year’s theme, “Every Moment Matters,” underscores the significant impact that volunteers have through their dedication. Their selflessness not only enriches the lives of others but also fortifies the local community and bolsters Brampton’s economy.

The City of Brampton offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities suitable for individuals aged 14 and older in various sectors, including Animal Services, Community Emergency Response Volunteers (CERV), Brampton On Stage, and Recreation. The city continually seeks skilled individuals eager to make a difference.
