Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Sran. To start, can you tell me about yourself?
Babbu Sran: Thank you for having me. I’ve lived in Brampton Centre for nearly 15 years and have been actively involved in our community. Since 2010, I’ve been volunteering for the Conservative Party, and in 2019, I became an official member. Over the years, I’ve participated in various elections and social events, and I served as Director of the PC Party in Brampton South. Besides my political involvement, I’m engaged in community and NGO activities, such as being a member of Youth4Community in Brampton and a former Director of the United Brother Hockey Club. Now I manage a small trucking company. My passion for social work and community service drives me to make a positive impact on others’ lives, and I believe in the Conservative vision for Canada’s future.
Interviewer: Why do you want to run for the nomination in Brampton Centre?
Babbu Sran: My deep-rooted passion for serving our community and my belief in the Conservative vision for Canada drive me to seek this nomination. I believe our constituency deserves a representative who is deeply connected to the community and committed to addressing its unique needs.
Interviewer: What will be your priorities if you are elected as the MP for Brampton Centre?
Babbu Sran: My priorities will be centered around community growth, safety, and prosperity. Firstly, I aim to address the economic concerns by supporting small businesses and creating job opportunities. As an Owner-Operator of a small trucking company, I understand the struggles small business owners face. Secondly, I want to improve community safety by working closely with local law enforcement and community groups. Lastly, I will focus on youth engagement and sports, leveraging my experience as a former international hockey player and coach to develop programs that keep our youth active and engaged.
Interviewer: Can you elaborate on your involvement in community and NGO activities?
Babbu Sran: Certainly. I am currently a member of Youth4Community in Brampton, where we focus on engaging young people in positive activities and community service. I also served as the Director of the United Brother Hockey Club in Brampton, where I helped organize and promote youth hockey programs. These roles have allowed me to understand the importance of community support and youth engagement. Additionally, my work as a social worker has been incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to make a positive impact on individuals and families in need.
Interviewer: How do you view the leadership of Pierre Poilievre, and how does it influence your campaign?
Babbu Sran: I have great confidence in Pierre Poilievre’s dedication to Canada’s welfare. His commitment to fiscal responsibility, individual freedoms, and economic growth aligns with my values and the values of many Canadians. His leadership inspires me to work diligently towards a prosperous future for our nation. I believe that under his guidance, the Conservative Party can address the pressing issues our country faces and provide a clear, positive path forward.
