SUMMARY:LANGER SEWA
DESCRIPTION:Councilors of City of Brampton  is organizing Langer Sewa on May 6\, 2024 at Ken Williams Square from 11.30 AM to 1.00 PM.  You are invited to participate and bring non perishable food items to donate. \nAbout Langer Sewa \nLanger Sewa\, often simply called “Langar\,” is a tradition deeply ingrained in the Sikh faith\, which exemplifies the values of selfless service and community unity. This practice\, started by Guru Nanak\, the founder of Sikhism\, involves preparing and distributing free meals to all visitors\, irrespective of their background\, at Gurdwaras (Sikh temples). The meals are vegetarian to accommodate all dietary restrictions\, fostering inclusivity. \nIn Brampton\, a city known for its vibrant multicultural community\, the local councilor is organizing a Langar Sewa. This initiative highlights the councilor’s commitment to promoting communal harmony and supporting the local community through shared values of compassion and equality. Everyone\, seated together on the floor\, enjoys the same nutritious meals\, symbolizing the universal principle of equality among all participants. \nLangar Sewa not only offers physical nourishment but also nurtures a sense of belonging and community spirit\, reinforcing the Sikh teachings of “Vand Chakko\,” which advocate for sharing with others and caring for the needy. Through this initiative\, the City of Brampton celebrates these values\, bringing people from diverse backgrounds together in a meaningful and enriching experience.
