lululemon Opens One of North America’s Largest Distribution Centres in Brampton

BRAMPTON: The City of Brampton has celebrated the official opening of lululemon’s new state-of-the-art Distribution Centre, a major investment that further strengthens the city’s position as one of Canada’s leading hubs for logistics, advanced manufacturing, and supply chain innovation.

Mayor Patrick Brown, members of Brampton City Council, and senior executives from lululemon participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of the company’s one-million-square-foot Brampton Distribution Centre. The event represents a significant milestone in lululemon’s global fulfilment strategy and its continued investment in Canada.

Located in northeast Brampton, the new facility is among the largest distribution centres in North America and features Canada’s largest AutoStore installation, utilizing advanced robotics and automation technology to improve order fulfilment speed, operational efficiency, capacity, and supply chain resilience.

The project highlights Brampton’s growing reputation as an investment-ready city, supported by its strategic location, modern transportation infrastructure, highly skilled workforce, and business-friendly environment. Throughout the development process, the City’s Economic Development Office worked closely with lululemon by facilitating planning approvals, coordinating municipal services, and connecting the company with transit and community resources.

The new distribution centre is expected to strengthen lululemon’s North American supply chain while generating employment opportunities and contributing significantly to Brampton’s local economy.

The investment also reflects the city’s continued success in attracting global companies seeking advanced logistics operations. Brampton’s expanding industrial sector, combined with increasing adoption of automation and robotics technologies, is positioning the city as a leader in the future of supply chain management and advanced manufacturing.

Mayor Patrick Brown described lululemon’s continued investment as a strong endorsement of Brampton’s economic strength, skilled workforce, and ability to support world-class business operations. He noted that the facility will create jobs, foster innovation, and reinforce Brampton’s leadership in logistics and advanced manufacturing.

Deputy Mayor Harkirat Singh said the project demonstrates why Brampton is becoming a preferred destination for innovative logistics and manufacturing investments, adding that the facility combines technology, scale, and economic opportunity while supporting long-term growth.

Regional Councillor Gurpartap Singh Toor praised the expansion as a significant investment that will create meaningful employment opportunities for local residents and highlighted the role played by the City’s Economic Development Office in supporting businesses from planning through community integration.

Regional Councillor Rowena Santos said global investments of this scale strengthen Brampton’s economic foundation and reflect international confidence in the city’s people, infrastructure, and future as a competitive destination for business.

Ted Dagnese, lululemon’s Chief Supply Chain Officer, said the Brampton Distribution Centre demonstrates the company’s strong partnership with the City of Brampton and builds upon lululemon’s Canadian roots. He noted that the new facility significantly enhances the company’s distribution capabilities across both Canada and the United States.

The opening of the Brampton Distribution Centre marks another important milestone in the city’s economic development strategy, reinforcing its status as a premier destination for global investment, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.
