Brampton Ready for Safe and Spectacular Canada Day Celebrations Across the City

The City of Brampton is inviting residents and visitors to enjoy a safe, festive, and memorable Canada Day celebration on July 1 while reminding everyone to plan ahead, follow event guidelines, and take advantage of the many services and recreational opportunities available throughout the holiday.

City officials have coordinated closely with event organizers, security personnel, and Peel Regional Police to ensure celebrations are safe and well organized. Visitors attending Canada Day festivities are encouraged to arrive early, allow extra time for security screening, and follow directions provided by event staff to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Residents can explore a full schedule of entertainment, activities, and performances through the City’s official Canada Day information portal, while additional community events taking place across Brampton can also be found through Experience Brampton.

Public safety remains a top priority during the holiday, particularly with respect to fireworks. The City reminds residents that under Brampton’s Fireworks By-law, the purchase, possession, sale, display, and discharge of fireworks are prohibited except during City-authorized events. Sparklers remain permitted; however, violations of the by-law carry minimum penalties beginning at $500. Officials are encouraging residents to enjoy professionally organized fireworks displays rather than using personal fireworks.

Municipal services will continue to operate throughout the holiday. Service Brampton will remain available 24 hours a day, with overnight operations focused on urgent public safety matters such as blocked emergency routes, injured or aggressive animals, and traffic signal failures. Residents can access City and Region of Peel services through the Brampton 311 mobile application, the online service portal, or by telephone.

Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday and holiday schedule on Canada Day. While customer service counters and administrative facilities, including Lost and Found services, will be closed, the Transit Contact Centre will remain available during the day to assist passengers with route and schedule information.

Residents looking to enjoy the outdoors will find all City parks, playgrounds, recreational trails, and off-leash dog parks open throughout the holiday. With more than 870 parks and trail systems across the city, Brampton continues to offer abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation during the summer season.

Several City recreation facilities, including Professors Lake Beach and Peel Village Golf Course, will welcome visitors under modified holiday hours. However, no registered recreational programs or summer camps will operate on July 1. Residents are encouraged to check holiday schedules before visiting recreation facilities.

Brampton Library branches will be closed for the holiday, although members will continue to have full access to digital collections, eBooks, online learning resources, movies, and other electronic services through the library’s website and mobile application. The library is also encouraging residents of all ages to register for its popular summer reading clubs, including programs for children, teens, and adults. Participants who register before July 13 will be eligible for an early-bird prize draw and will be invited to attend Summer Clubs Launch Parties taking place at library branches across the city.

Brampton Animal Shelter will also be closed on Canada Day, although Animal Services officers will remain on duty to respond to emergency situations requiring immediate attention.

With enhanced public safety measures, convenient municipal services, family-friendly recreational opportunities, and a full day of celebrations planned across the city, Brampton is preparing to welcome residents and visitors for another exciting Canada Day while encouraging everyone to celebrate responsibly and safely.
