“The Citizen Awards recognize residents whose actions help shape Brampton in meaningful ways. This year’s recipients reflect the dedication and leadership found across our city, from sports and arts to community service. Their contributions continue to shape the experiences of residents and inspire others. Congratulations to all award winners on this well-deserved recognition,” said Brown.

Rowena Santos congratulated the award winners and highlighted the importance of volunteerism and civic engagement.

“These individuals and organizations truly represent the heart and soul of Brampton. Their leadership, kindness and dedication continue to inspire others and strengthen the sense of community that makes Brampton such a vibrant and caring city,” Santos said.

Sarabjit Arora said receiving the recognition was both emotional and humbling.

“This honour belongs to every volunteer and community member who works quietly behind the scenes to help others. Brampton’s strength comes from people who care deeply about their neighbours and continue to make a positive difference every single day,” Arora said.

Bill Godfrey also extended congratulations to community volunteers and award recipients connected with P.A.L. initiatives.

“Congratulations to our dedicated P.A.L.s — Wilma Colekessian, Kim Baddeley Craig, and Joseph Saunders. It was truly heart-warming to watch them recognized at the Rose Theatre as the outstanding citizens they are. These individuals are compassionate, caring and selfless people who work quietly behind the scenes to strengthen our community without seeking recognition. They are true Beacons of Hope for our city,” said Godfrey.

Godfrey added that volunteers across the People Against Littering network continue to demonstrate how ordinary people working together can make an extraordinary impact.

City officials said the Citizen Awards program remains one of Brampton’s most meaningful traditions, celebrating residents whose efforts continue to build a stronger, safer and more connected community for future generations.
