Families in Mississauga and Brampton will now have improved access to infant feeding support, as clinics across Peel Region expand their service hours to meet growing demand from new parents.
Peel Public Health announced that Baby Feeding Support clinics in both cities are now operating extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering more timely, hands-on assistance for families navigating early infant care.
The move comes in response to rising need across the region, where more than 17,000 babies were born in 2024. Health officials say this increase has driven demand for postpartum services, particularly those focused on infant feeding, which is considered a critical and time-sensitive aspect of early child development.
Peel Public Health nurses delivered more than 3,500 infant feeding support appointments in 2025, highlighting the essential role these services play in supporting both parents and newborns. Officials emphasize that early access to proper feeding guidance can significantly impact long-term health outcomes for both mother and baby.
The clinics are located at 10 Peel Centre Drive in Brampton and 6975 Meadowvale Town Centre Circle in Mississauga. Services are available by appointment, with referrals accepted through healthcare providers, local hospitals and Peel Region’s Multichannel Contact Centre.
Health officials say the expanded hours are expected to make it easier for families to access care when they need it most, helping to build a strong foundation for healthy development in the earliest stages of life.
