Health Canada has issued a recall for a windshield washer fluid product sold across the country due to safety concerns related to packaging and labelling requirements.
The recall involves Elixir -40°C windshield washer fluid, which authorities say does not comply with Canadian regulations requiring child-resistant packaging and proper product labelling.
According to the recall notice published on March 4, the absence of child-resistant packaging poses a potential safety risk.
“The lack of child-resistant packaging presents a risk of unintentional exposure, which could lead to serious illness or injury, including death,” the notice states.
Officials say approximately 2,944 units of the product were sold in Canada between November 2025 and January 2026.
Despite the safety concerns, Health Canada confirmed that no injuries or incidents had been reported as of Feb. 25.
