Patrick Brown Emerges as Brampton’s Preferred Leader in New Survey

Patrick Brown would easily be returned as Mayor of Brampton if an election were held today, according to a new survey conducted by Liaison Strategies, a national public opinion research firm.

The poll, carried out on October 22 and 23 among 800 Brampton residents using interactive voice response technology, indicates that Brown continues to maintain a strong lead just one year before the 2026 municipal election.

“If an election were held today — and the previous slate of candidates ran — Patrick Brown would easily be re-elected,” said David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies. “Fifty per cent of Bramptonians would vote for Brown over 2022 runner-up Nikki Kaur, who stands at 23 per cent.”

The findings also reveal that Brown’s approval rating sits at 59 per cent, with 37 per cent disapproving of his performance. Among ten major Ontario mayors tested, Brown’s approval rating ranks in the middle, with only four scoring higher. Notably, just 4 per cent of respondents said they had “no opinion” of the mayor — the lowest percentage among all mayors surveyed — reflecting both his visibility and strong name recognition in the city.

When asked about local priorities, 31 per cent of Bramptonians identified crime and safety as the top concern — the highest level of concern recorded among all Ontario cities in the survey. Affordable housing followed at 15 per cent, while homelessness and traffic tied at 12 per cent each.

At the federal level, the survey shows that the Conservative Party currently leads in Brampton with 48 per cent support among decided and leaning voters, compared to 41 per cent for the Liberals. The NDP trails at 7 per cent.

The results suggest that as Brampton heads toward the 2026 municipal election, Mayor Patrick Brown continues to hold broad public support and remains the frontrunner to lead the city.
