At just 12 years old, Brampton’s own Landyn Griffin, known as “Canada’s Youngest Comic,” is making waves on the comedy scene and preparing for his first major hometown performance.
Performing as “Kid Says the Darndest Things” on Instagram, Landyn creatively presents one-liners and mature themes from a youthful perspective. His clever material recently had audiences laughing during amateur night at Yuk Yuks, where he jokingly addressed the pitfalls of online dating at his age.
Landyn will take the stage in his first featured hometown gig at Wild Wing Roadhouse in Brampton on Sunday. His father, Neil Griffin, also a comedian, praised Landyn’s talent, highlighting his unique blend of humor that covers everything from school and dating to bullying, all with a humorous twist.
Landyn plans to expand his comedy with a set suitable for younger audiences, aiming to debut on “Canada’s Got Talent” next year. He also performs alongside his father in a playful father-son roast and is working to incorporate music and pranks into his act.
Recently celebrating his birthday, Landyn hopes to fund a trip to Toronto to treat his brother to his first Raptors game with earnings from his performances.
Catch Landyn’s performance on Sunday at Wild Wing Roadhouse, located at 237 Queen St. E., Brampton. Entry is pay-what-you-can, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Follow Landyn on Instagram or TikTok to enjoy more of his comedic talent.
